National Magazine Exchange Winner Hazel James has worked hard throughout her life. She spent 30 years in different service industries throughout New York. As well, she has done much for the plight of African-American women, being the first to gain employment in a Roosevelt Island assembly plant. Today, her family lives throughout America. She has a grandson currently overseas, stationed there for the military and she has a great grandchild. Since taking retirement, National Magazine Exchange winner James spends much of her time with family and friends, and at her local church, where she participates in its gospel choir.
National Magazine Exchange (NME) has announced the winner of their 2009 “Strike It Rich” VI early Bird Sweepstakes. This year’s winner is Cindy Helbling of Pittsburgh, PA.
She was recently awarded with a $100,000 check and said of her winnings, “Winning has made such a difference in my life. I’m so glad I entered.”
